Wardrobe Organisation by Anna Mewes

For me personal style is a form a self care. Your style tells your story and if we don’t feel we’re presenting ourselves in the best possible way it can have a huge effect on our body image and self confidence.

I work with my clients to help them understand which colours suit them best and how to combine them effectively, which fabrics and styles will fit and flatter their body shape beautifully (focusing on the areas they love to show them off to maximum effect!) and demonstrating to them how to express their unique personality through their style.

One of my most popular services is my wardrobe consultation, where I come into my clients’ homes and help them to go through their wardrobe to ascertain what they have that’s working well, what they have that maybe isn’t working so well and identifying where the gaps are.

Every single client I see has far more outfit options and combinations than they realise - and many have lots of clothes that they may have completely forgotten about because they’re hidden at the back of the wardrobe or under items they wear on a regular basis.

A big part of my wardrobe consultation package is decluttering and organising the wardrobe. Anything that doesn’t fit well, has seen better days or simply doesn’t derive pleasure when it’s worn generally goes. We set the bar very high! I truly believe it is far better to have fewer clothes that you love than a wardrobe full of items that just make you feel ‘OK’ - life is too short for that!

Our wardrobes should make us feel excited and happy when we open them each morning - having a well-organised space in which to keep your clothing is key.

A well-organised wardrobe has SO many benefits beyond simply looking nice. We spend a lot of money on our clothes and therefore need to treat them well. Keeping things well-organised preserves the condition of your clothing - ensuring items are placed on the correct style of hangers, folded appropriately, or stored in breathable covers prolongs their life span as they are kept in the best possible condition.

For me, one of the biggest benefits of having a well-organised wardrobe is the fact that you can SEE everything, meaning that you will WEAR more of your clothes. Generally speaking we wear about 20% of our clothes 80% of the time. Having a well organised wardrobe means you’re less likely to forget about things, meaning you’ll wear them and combine them with other items to create more outfit options. This means the value you get out of your clothing - the cost per wear, greatly improves. Beautiful clothes deserve to be worn and enjoyed as much as possible, not hidden away and forgotten about!

I truly feel a well-organised wardrobe sparks so much joy when you open it in the morning, it’s where you start your day so make it a space that is full of colour, textures and clothing that you love, all presented beautifully so the only difficult decision you have to make is which gorgeous outfit to opt for!
